My favourite lip products of the moment!

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Today I decided to show you a few of my favourite lip products. I didn't include the Clinique Chubby Stick in Pudgy Peony, since I already mentioned it in my previous favourites post. But here are some AH-MAZING lippies that should get you right through the summer.

Let's begin with Liz Earle lipstick in 03 Damask Rose*. I love this one, I really do. It's a beautiful pinkish-red shade that isn't as obvious on the lips as you might think. You can definitely see it, but it's not in your face. I personally really like this one for everyday, when I want to add some freshness to my lips. It kind of looks natural even (boy do I wish my lips were naturally this colour). The lipstick is amazing quality as well, it actually isn't gritty in the slightest and it glides on the lips beautifully. When you have it on, you can't even feel it! Available on their website.

Next up is Maybelline Vivid Lipstick in 902 Fuchsia Flash. Now this is the perfect lipstick for summer nights when you go clubbing, in my opinion. It's a real Barbie pink! Super pink, with blue undertones (which make your teeth look whiter!) and slightly matte. This one isn't gritty either, the quality is actually great for a drugstore product. I really like it and I've been wearing it loads even on an everyday basis when I'm just running errands. It might even be a dupe for MAC's Candy Yum Yum... I will let you know when I get my hands on that one in the summer. Also, this has great staying power as it dries to a slightly matte finish. You can get it on FeelUnique.

The third lippy is YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy and I just realized I bought the wrong one, but oh well, I still adore it! First seen on Ana's blog here, I had to get it ASAP. I liked this shade the most, maybe they didn't have the one she has in stock, because I remember this being the darkest? Anyway, it's 4 Succulent Pommegranate and it's a very sheer reddish pink, which looks quite glossy on the lips and feels like a lip balm. Amazing product for summer, because you don't want something really heavy. It also helps moisturize my always chapped lips! Amazing product, definitely worth the price! Buy it here.

And last we have two Revlon lip butters, which have FINA-FREAKING-LLY (pardon my French) gotten to Slovenia, even though we have such a limited amount of shades, it's ridonkulous. I have Berry Smoothie and Sweet Tart, and I can't decide which one I love more. They're both super pretty shades, the first being a bit darker and violet-toned, and the second one is a gorgeous corally pink. They're very very creamy, but I wouldn't call them a lip balm. More of a creamier lipstick, almost something you would expect in pot form. Really amazing products though. I got mine in Ilirija in Ljubljana, they're also available in Nama. Also on this Slovenian website, which carries a few more shades. Internationally, if you can't find them in stores, try hitting up Ebay.

These are all amazing lippies, but I have something to warn you about: beware of these melting in the summer! Don't carry them in your pocket!! I have heard about some makeup bags that are sort of refrigirated or something (that is hilarious and the best invention ever), so I will look into them, because I hate it when my lippies melt and lose their shape!

  7. Thank you Summer for following Bella's Bookshelf <3

I simply ADORE your blog! It's EVERYTHING I love in one blog. About 1x a month I do a feature on my blog called "Beauty and Brains" basically it's a review or feature of something from the beauty world I love. I did a post about subscription boxes (boxes of cosmetics mailed to your home 1x a month), I did another post about lip balm addiction. People say your lips can get hooked on lip balm, etc.

I'd LOVE if you would do a guest post one Saturday. It can be about anything you like or a combination of things you like.

Onto the lipstick! I have been looking for that PERFECT red that's perfect for people with my skin tone-pale with reddish/pinkish undertones. Basically a lip color with blue undertones. I found one color one time quite by accident and EVERYONE raved about it on me. It was from Avon believe it or not. Avon or Mary Kay. Some company like that. I lost it and have never been able to replicate it again.

I really, really, like Maybelline Vivid Lipstick in 902 Fuchsia Flash. I also like the 2 Revlon Lip Butters. I have small lips so I have to be careful. Too dark emphasizes their smallness. I am thinking I will buy the Maybelline Fuchsia Flash. If it isnt right I can return it. There is a store here where you can return cosmetics that dont work for you. Cool huh?

Oh yeah! My friend has a lipstick holder that keeps the lipsticks "cool" in the summer! She puts the case in the freezer overnight, slides the lipstick in that morning, puts in her purse, and VOILA! it stays cool ALL day even in 90 degree weather! She got it in Japan. I told her she should of brought home 1000000 of them we ALL would of bought more than 1! Sadly, they were $30.00 USD a piece!

Thanks again for the follow and visit to my beloved blog. I am happy I am able to follow yours in return. I will be by often. I love your cute site.
