Top 5 Perfumes Of 2014

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

This post is very late, but nonetheless I'd like to wish you a very happy New Year! I'm hoping 2015 treats us well and gives us brilliant ideas, amazing opportunities and 12 months filled with love and laughter.

We all know I'm a major perfume addict, so my year would not be complete without talking about my top 5 scents of this year. I chose a variety of different perfumes, so here's hoping you'll find something you love ... But if you love sweet scents you've definitely come to the right place! I don't mind a good fruity-floral or even a spicy perfume, but this year was all about the sweet smelling scents.

5. Marc Jacobs - Daisy Eau so Fresh

A lovely floral fragrance that I've been neglecting a little bit because I think it's more spring than winter appropriate. It has some green notes which are not too obvious (I hate them in general, but they're lovely in this concoction), but it also has fruits like lychee and pear - one of my favourite combos in fragrances. Jasmine and violet round up this soft perfume nicely. Read my full review here

4. Aquolina - Gold Sugar

Not for the faint hearted, Gold Sugar is seriously sweet! Almost overwhelmingly so, but if you love very sweet perfumes like Escada and Britney Spears, you'll love this. It smells like caramel and coconut with something baked and milky thrown in. Very potent and long lasting, too. My full review is here.

3. L'Erbolario Papavero Soave

Another sweet fragrance but not as in your face. It smells like poppies and jasmine, though the sweet notes are more apparent. It's not sickly sweet though as there's no fruit in this scent. I really love this one and it's such a bargain as well! You can read more about it in this post.

2. Givenchy - Ange ou Demon

This is a stunning fragrance with long lasting power and good sillage. You can just tell it's expensive, because it smells really ... classy? I sound so pretentious, but it's true. It has some vanilla and tonka beans as well as saffron, but it really isn't too sweet. Instead it's quite spicy, but has a velvet feel to it. I just adore it! Full review here.

1. Estée Lauder - Bronze Goddess Capri

I've wanted this for a couple of years and despite the fact that I'm writing this post in the dead of winter, this summery, coconut fragrance still calls to me. It's a delicious mix that reminds me of sandy beaches, cocktails and suntan lotion. You can get these every summer, but this one is limited edition from a year or so ago. My review is here.

I hope I'll find some more amazing perfumes this year! I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one.
