I've been a little bit better with my beauty routine as of late, so I thought that warranted a post on cleansers, which I really love. They're a bit of a (boring) obsession, but I have two very special products I'd like to talk to you about today. I use a different cleanser in the daytime than at night and I thought I'd recommend these two if you're curious. Just a fair warning though, both of these products are high end, but I will be giving recommendations for less expensive products along with them.
Let's start in the A.M. I like to have a shower in the morning and nothing wakes me up like an exfoliator. I use one on my body and one for my face, and the latter is the REN Rosa Centifolia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. These products are really nicely scented, I definitely smell the rose! You might be freaked out by the fact that I use an exfoliating cleanser every day, but my skin is very clogged, oily and just all-around-annoying, plus this one is extremely gentle. The exfoliating beads in it feel very soft and it's definitely not like those harsh sugar scrubs, it's more like something jojoba based - very gentle. It takes off all the gunk from the night and makes my face soft and ready for makeup application. A less expensive alternative would be the Yves Rocher Chammomile Cleanser.
For nighttime, I've been going all out ... Recently I attended an event for Sensai, and we were introduced to their new 2 step collection, which is inspired by the Japanese tradition of saho. I loved it! We also got to take away a product - mine was the Sensai Silky Purifying Cleansing Cream which I promptly stared at for a few weeks before finally taking the plunge and using it. Let me just tell you, this is pure luxury right here! Softly but beautifully scented, this product is gentle, but effective. I actually remove all my makeup with it in the shower, just gently cleansing my face with it. It is truly amazing, and great for facial massages as well. Granted, this is a very expensive product, but if you can afford it ... I really recommend it. If you'd like something similar, still in the higher end, but just as lovely is the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel, and I also like the Vichy Pureté Thermale 3 in 1 One Step Cleanser.
Cleansers are one of those products that will always be a staple in my routine, I just love the feeling of using them and cannot imagine going without them (unless I fall asleep with a full face of makeup, tsk tsk!), so I'll definitely have some more recommendations for you soon.
