Mini Malta Beauty Haul & Where To Shop in Malta

Monday, January 19, 2015

Hello hello!

I am finally back from my holiday, which I totally forgot to mention. I went to Malta for a week and had a lovely time, apart from the flight back, which was a complete nightmare - seriously, don't get me started! Despite being so small, Malta has a few lovely places to shop for beauty and fashion items, and I'll share them with you quickly in the end of this post. But let's see what I got first!

I was so excited to find a Rimmel stand in a drugstore nearby - it wasn't perfectly stocked, but I got a few things I really like. First of all, a foundation. Now do I need a new foundation? Usually I would say no since I have a bajillion of them, but Tilen kindly informed me I do, since my face is apparently quite orange. What a lovely boyfriend I have! So I got the lightest shade in Match Perfection, which is apparently more natural on me. Who knew I was so pale! This is in the shade 103 True Ivory.

I've been wearing my Rimmel Apocalips so much lately I just knew I'd have to get more. I got a very pretty color called Nova, which is a pretty muted-but-still-bright-if-that-makes-sense pink, as well as a Lip Velvet edition in Meteoric Matte (reminds me of MAC Rebel).

I also just had to try the Kate lipsticks, and I ended up with 104 Rosetto. This is a gorgeous, Kylie Jenner kind of dusky pink. And funny story, I was on Pinterest today and saw the prettiest lipstick swatch, made a mental note to get that lipstick, and realized it was this exact one! Cannot wait to wear it.

Finally, I was really impressed with the selection of pharmacy brands in Malta - awesome prices for La Roche Posay! After searching unsuccessfully for Serozinc (it shall be mine someday! *sobs*), I settled with two products from their Effaclar range, Effaclar K and Effaclar A.I. As you may know, I love their Duo, but Duo+ was absolutely awful. Now A.I. works lovely, but K seems to be breaking me out. Might be just an initial reaction - I'll definitely keep you posted.

Now for shopping in Malta!

Beauty

If you're looking for beauty, you'll find brands like Rimmel (a bit hard to find), L'Oreal, Maybelline and Essie. I was more impressed with their skincare, they have some interesting brands and La Roche Posay and Bioderma were much cheaper than here in Slovenia. Definitely head to pharmacies, they have good deals. They also have Deborah, which is a brand I don't love really.

Fashion

As far as fashion goes, it's like a mini Britain in Malta! You have Peacocks, Oasis, Warehouse, even Debenhams. I was so excited to find Mango in Sliema. If you want to shop, I'd recommend going there in January, there are incredible sales - I got a dress at Dorothy Perkins that was discounted from 100€ to 15€. Head to Sliema - there's a good shopping center with shops like River Island and New Look at Tigné Point, there's a shopping mall. In Valetta, I'd recommend Roseberry, a cosmetics store with brands like NYX, blinc and Sleek.

Airport

Finally, I loved their duty free. I didn't buy anything because I exclusively buy my fragrance online, and the best website to do that is salma.si. I just used the duty free shop to sniff every single fragrance I was interested in, and now I'll order online. By the way, I've linked all of my products to Salma, because they're really inexpensive and I just love that store in general.

Hope this was helpful! I really had a great time.
Have you ever been to Malta?

V lekarnah imajo super izbiro izdelkov, znamki Bioderma in La Roche Posay sta odlično založeni in dokaj poceni. Privoščila sem si Effaclar K in Effaclar A.I., o katerih poročam kmalu.

No, sedaj pa nazaj k realnosti. Se slišimo v prihodnjih dneh!
