This amazing post idea came from The Sunday Girl.
Today I have a post on drugstore beauty for people who are going back to school. I picked a few of my favourites that I think would be perfect for achieving a more natural, toned down look for school. I think most of these are pretty affordable and you will definitely get some good use out of them. Let's see what we have ...
Face
Don't use foundation if you don't have to! But if you have problematic skin, for example, why not reach for something like Bourjois CC Cream. It's light, doesn't look cakey and provides good coverage, plus it has an SPF - perfect! It's quite inexpensive as well at around 12€. I also really like this KIKO Full Coverage Concealer, which I got recently and have completely fallen in love with. I think it costs around 8€ and it really is great for covering dark circles especially - you know you'll be pulling some allnighters! And to finish the look off, I'm always up for a good blusher, and this beautiful I <3 Makeup Blushing Hearts one is just perect (full review coming up). I only costs around 7-8€ as well.
Eyes
You might be tempted to get the newest Urban Decay Naked palette, since they're so hyped up. Instead, I would suggest going for Naked Basics. The shades are matte and much more appropriate for daytime makeup in my opinion, plus it's way less expensive ar around 22€. Using a good mascara is a must for me, and I would strongly recommend the Deborah 24 Ore Mascara, which is truly amazing. If you can get your hands on this beauty, definitely do - it's only around 8€.
Brows
Good brows = everything. I love my KIKO Eyebrow Expert Set which was around 8€ and has two different shadows as well as a wax. It really defines and frames my face. By the way, I used to do my eyebrows way, way too dark. To avoid my mistake, go for a shade darker than your hair if your locks are light, and a shade lighter if they're dark.
Lips
For the lips, I'd say get a nice pop of colour (not too bright) and a lip balm. The Maybelline Baby Lips are lovely and give you some colour as well, plus they only cost about 3€. And for the slick of colour, I love Revlon Lacquer Balm in 110 Coquette. It's glossy, a gorgeous pink shade and not drying either. Perfect!
Nails
I'm loving KIKO nail polishes (lots of love for KIKO in this post). They have an enormous variety of shades which are all amazing, and you can sometimes get them on offer - I got each one for 2€, while they're usually around 4€. They apply easily and are opaque with 1-2 coats. You can try experimenting with their matte top coat, too!
Perfume
I think celebrity perfume is hugely underrated. Sure, I like a good expensive fragrance, but some of my favourites come from Britney and so on. Today I wanted to feature Jessica Simpson Fancy, which is the most gorgeous fall scent. It's a beautifully blended caramel, very sweet, but not cloying - just perfect, and really inexpensive as well. I got mine for around 20€ for the large bottle.
There we go - some of my picks for back to school beauty. With the exception of the Urban Decay palette, they're all from the drugstore. I really hope you enjoyed this!
Yay to Naked Basics!
