Sunday Skincare Pamper for Problematic Skin

Sunday, July 6, 2014

About a year ago, I learned of the magic that are the Twitter chats. Basically, you tweet back and forth with other bloggers using different hashtags. My favourite are the #bbloggers chats for beauty bloggers, which are held every Wednesday and Sunday at 9 p.m. (Slovenian time). Recently, I was participating in a chat, and I noticed a girl mentioned that she used these chats to talk to others, but also to pamper herself with a face mask. And I thought that was just the best idea since sliced bread, so here I am, waiting for the evening, my stash all ready to get my pamper on.

As you know, I have problematic skin, so I put together a few products that are suitable for my skin and that I like using on pampering session (of which I definitely don't have enough). I'm going to share a few of my favourite bits today.

First of all, if I have a bit of extra time, I really like using a cleansing oil. The one pictured above is from the Superfacialist range by Una Brennan, which you can get in Boots in the UK. By the way, Boots recently started shipping internationally and included Slovenia on their shipping destinations (yay)! This is called the Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil. First thing I noticed was the scent - pure roses! It's very strongly scented, so I would steer clear if you're sensitive to fragrance. Otherwise, it's really lovely, and I love massaging my face with this stuff. It costs around 20€ on Boots.com.

Another great relaxing beauty thingy is a mask. I really like the REN Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask. This is a clay mask and I've talked about it a few times already. It dries on your face, and then I like to wash it off with warm water (the instructions say to rub it off, but that's terribly messy). This is great for clogged pores and oily to combination skin, but I wouldn't use it too often, because it does dry my skin out a bit. Definitely reach for a good moisturizer after you've washed it off. Slovenian customers can buy it on Oblak, while international readers can head to the REN website. Price is around 25€.

I've talked about the brand Mama Nature before, but I mentioned a different product. Today I'd like to talk about Teenage Dream, which is a natural acne treatment - a mix of essential oils and other good-for-your-skin ingredients. This is quite oily, so I apply it with a cotton pad on problematic areas. Has a very strong tea tree scent, and is astringent, so it may sting a little. But I have noticed it really dries up my blemishes. Haven't been using it for too long, but I really like having a pamper with it because the scent relaxes me a lot. Price is around 30€ on the Mama Nature website, and you'll have this for ages.

Finally, a product to finish your night with. It's the Vichy Night Detox treatment - I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here before, but I've been using it for a few months. I love Vichy's products for problematic skin (another great one is the Normaderm Hyaluspot), and this one is no different. It feels very strange on the skin, almost like one of those silicone primers. But it really dries up oily areas and reduces blemishes in size, which is a total god send. The price is around 17€ I think, you can get it in pharmacies.

There we go - a choice of pampering products for you to try if you have problematic skin like me! Definitely join the Twitter chat as well, it's good fun.

How do you like to pamper yourself?

    1. Se mi je zdelo, da niso ravno popularne ... Pa še trenutna pisava ne pozna šumnikov. Bi bilo bolje, če jih uvedem nazaj? :)
